This morning at 8:55 AM, the iconic actress who portrayed Princess Leia passed away following a heart attack she suffered last week. An acclaimed performer and writer, Carrie Fisher first appeared on the big screen in 1975 before appearing in George Lucas's Star Wars in 1977. She would go on to star in numerous other films, such as The Blues Brothers, When Harry Met Sally, and Hannah and Her Sisters. She also wrote four novels in her lifetime, inspired by her experiences in recovering from drug addiction. Her iconic roles and acting inspired countless people and earned her worldwide acclaim over the course of her life. Fisher is survived by her mother, her brother, her ex-husband and her only child.
