In need of new hyperspace routes due to Imperial pressure, the rebels find a shortcut but must first gain permission to use it.

What did everyone think of the twelth episode of the second season of Star Wars Rebels?

    • Almost missed it, since I only just found out that new episodes air at 9:00 instead of 9:30 now. Good to know that. I gotta say, Tiya Sircar really stepped up her game in this episode. That was some of Sabine's best dialogue to date, and then of course there's the veiled references to what happened to Mandalore at the end of TCW. Easy to spot when you're actively looking for them.

I can't speak for all the EU Mando lovers, but I'd say they did a good job covering the true Mandalorians in this episode.

    • Now I'm even more interested in Sabine - Her mother was in Death Watch and may even have been there when Pre Viszla was beheaded by Maul!

She also states she forged her armor, which makes Mandalorian warrior culture all the more intriguing for me.

Still, I wonder if Sabine's mother sided with Bo-Katan and the Nite Owls or bowed to the leadership of Maul once he took over Death Watch. Were I Mandalorian, I'd be with the Nite Owls, agreeing with Bo-Katan that "No outsider shall ever rule Mandalore"

Either way, I consider Death Watch zealots and terrorists, deserving of execution for warmongering and senseless slaughter

I also wonder about Sabine's friend Ketsu Onyo - She's Mandalorian, they shared a friendship close like sisters, and I wonder if Ketsu came from a clan or a Mandalorian House. She doesn't wear traditional Mandalorian armor or the trademarked T-shaped visored helmet, which seems to indicate otherwise

    • I like how the Mandolorians are now portrayed as seperate families living all across the galaxy. Maybe both the Rebels and Empire could have seperate families on their sides, and a power struggle could begin about who was the rightful Mandolore.

Speaking as a True Mando nerd, the Protecters and Bo-Katan's Nite Owls post-desertion are as close to them as we're going to get. They're pretty awesome, right down to the I'll-work-with-you-if-you-leave-my-people-alone relationship they had with the Empire. :) This episode was pretty good. It could've had a bit more added to the plotline and it felt kind of short in a way, but it managed to give some more backstory to Kanan. Ironically, for another Sabine-centric episode, it still managed to give us as little information about her as possible to leave us wanting more. I give it a 7/10.

The Rebels Recon YouTube commenters drive me nuts. Everyone thinks now more then ever that Sabine's Bo-Katan's daughter simply because she was in the throne room when Vizsla was killed. THERE WERE AT LEAST THREE OTHER WOMEN IN THAT ROOM AT THE SAME TIME, PEOPLE!!! Not to mention that if she were Bo's daughter, wouldn't she have said "Clan Wren, House Kryze"? Honestly... they're just looking for connections where the only real one I can find is that they share a Nite Owl T-shape visor on their helmets.

And you know you're a nerd when you go "SHHH! Kanan, spoilers!" at the TV because he starts talking about the Third Battle of Mygeeto and you haven't read the issue of Kanan's backstory comic book that details it yet because it came out the same day and you usually wait for the TPB instead... I'm weird. :)
