Premise[]
Zeb and Agent Kallus find themselves stranded on an icy moon of Geonosis after a failed Imperial ambush of the rebels. Bitter enemies, they must put aside their differences and work together in order to survive.
Synopsis[]
The Rebels had been sent on a mission to investigate Imperial construction module orbiting Geonosis. Rebel intelligence received word that the Empire was conducting mass construction above the planet, but with no clue of what they were constructing. The Rebels arrived at Geonosis and discovered the entire planet was completely lifeless. This left them concerned, especially Zeb. None the less, the Rebels proceeded with their investigation and boarded one of the construction modules. Kanan, Sabine, Ezra, and Zeb went in to check things out while Hera, Chopper, and Rex stood by with the ship in case anything happened. The Rebels found the entire facility to be abandoned, which made Zeb uneasy. He had this gut feeling that all this might be a trap, and he was proven right when Imperial forces showed up without warning, led by Agent Kallus.
Kanan, Ezra, and Sabine took on the Stormtroopers, and Zeb engaged Agent Kallus in a Bo-Rifle duel. During the fight, an Imperial droid attempted to lock down all doors to the hanger, only to be stopped by Chopper. He defeated the astromech and reopened all the doors, allowing Kanan, Ezra, and Sabine to retreat back to the Ghost. Zeb however continued to battle against Agent Kallus. His fellow Rebels waited for him to return to the ship, but Zeb ordered them to take off without him as he planned to get out by escape pod. Zeb made it to an escape pod, and just as he began the launch sequence, Agent Kallus came up from behind. He tried to stop him from escaping, and soon the two of them engaged in a fight as the escape pod launched and headed for Geonosis. In the midst of the fight, Kallus was kicked against the controls, which caused severe damage. The escape pod lost a thruster and went off course, heading for one of Geonosis’ moons. Kallus tried to gain control but it is no use. Soon the escape pod lost all thrusters and headed straight down towards the moon’s surface. It crashed through a floor of ice and finally touched down inside a cave. The impact left Zeb and Agent Kallus out cold. Meanwhile, the Rebels were under attack by TIE Fighters and Walkers. The TIES chased the Ghost around the construction module, and were shot down one at a time. The last TIE was shot down when it chased the Ghost through the hanger bay and collided into an attacking walker. With their attackers defeated the Rebels headed towards Geonosis to find Zeb, unaware that he actually crashed on one of the moons.
On the moon’s surface, Zeb regained consciousness and so did Agent Kallus, who had a broken leg. Despite being enemies, Zeb helped Agent Kallus out of the escape pod and set up a fusion furnace to keep them both warm. As Zeb salvaged a damaged transponder from the escape pod, the two of them heard strange noises coming from the darkness around them. They may not be entirely alone on the moon.
As time past, both Zeb and Agent Kallus huddled around the furnace trying to keep themselves warm as the temperature continued to drop. Zeb managed to fix the transponder, and adjusted the frequency making it possible for anyone to pick up its single. Suddenly the furnace’s power cell froze. Zeb and Agent Kallus no longer had anything to keep them warm. However, Zeb spotted something glowing. It was a small glowing meteoroid which was exposing heat, and gave it to Agent Kallus to keep warm. Suddenly they heard those strange noises coming from the darkness again, and in spite that the transponder was fixed it could not send a transmission through the ice. So Zeb decided to take the transponder to the surface by climbing out through the hole they came in. After a few failed attempts in climbing the walls, a huge vicious creature emerged from the dark and attacked Zeb. Kallus grabbed his bo-rifle and assisted Zeb in fighting off the beast. They managed to force it back into the darkness, but guaranteed it would be back with friends. Both Zeb and Kallus agreed that if they were going to survive this predicament they were going to have to put aside their differences and work together. As Zeb bandaged Kallus’ broken leg, he learnt from Kallus that the bo-rifle he carried was not taken as a trophy, it was given to him by the Lasat guard he faced during the Empire’s massacre on Lasan. By tradition, when a Lasat warrior is defeated by a superior opponent he gifts him with his weapon. Kallus assures Zeb that what happened on Lasan was nothing personal, he was just following his duty. He then brought up his first unit. He and his men were deployed to Onderon to bring security and peace. They were on a routine patrol until they were attacked by a Rebel cell led by a Lasat mercenary. Helpless, he watched the leading Lasat kill off his injured unit with no chance of defending themselves. Kallus was spared, but for unknown reasons. In Zeb’s eyes, he showed a little pity for Kallus, but remained beside his grudge for what the Empire did to his home world. Kallus and Zeb then decided to have another go at climbing out, only this time Kallus told Zeb to climb up the pillars instead of the walls.
After throwing his rifle, and the transponder to the surface, Zeb began climbing the pillars with Kallus on his back. Suddenly, the creature they fought earlier came back and another showed up. In desperation to reach the surface, Kallus nearly fell only to be saved by Zeb. The creatures below tried to snap at them. With a bit of a struggle and working together, Zeb and Kallus made it to the surface and took shelter in a cave. With the transponder now out in the open, it could now send a single. All they could do now was wait for a response. As they waited for help to arrive, Kallus confessed to Zeb that what happened on Lasan was not meant to be a massacre. The Empire was really trying to make an example, and Kallus only took credit for it.
By morning the snowstorm had past. Upon waking up, Zeb and Kallus heard a ship. It was the Ghost. Zeb offered him to accompany him, but Kallus declined and willingly let him go. Zeb reunited with his fellow Rebels, and Kallus was later found and returned to the Empire.

Trivia[]
- This is the sixth episode where the Stormtroopers appear but none of them speak.
- Though not seen, Kallus was rescued from Bahryn by an independent trader who heard Zeb's modified distress call (rather than the Empire, who left him for dead). This part of the episode was cut for time.
- The large ice creature in this episode is named a "Bonzami" - which is an anagram of "Zamboni", a large ice-clearing machine at ice rinks.
- In the Rebels Recon for the episode, Pablo Hidalgo points out that the last scene of Vader and the Emperor at the end of Revenge of the Sith was watching the beginning of construction on the Death Star. No planet was visible in this scene, but they believe it was implied to be over Geonosis. This is because the Geonosians were the original founders of the Death Star's construction, meaning the construction yard seen in this episode was the remnants of the Death Star's first construction phase.
