Premise[]

After the Empire's Inquisitors begin targeting select babies for abduction, Ahsoka Tano and the Ghost crew investigate. What they find is unsettling, and it all leads to a deadly confrontation with the children's fates hanging in the balance.

Synopsis[]

Departing the planet Chandel, an Imperial Star Destroyer captured a passenger ship. Once docked with the ship, the Inquisitors boarded the transport searching for a child. They soon found the infant, known as Alora, with her grandmother, Darja. She tried to make a run for it but was eventually cornered. Darja warned them to stay away from her granddaughter, but the Seventh Sister approached and coldly assured her they only wished to make friends with Alora. Then she turned to the Fifth Brother, and gave him the sign to kill every passenger on the ship.

Meanwhile on Garel, Ahsoka paid Kanan a visit with Jedi business to discuss. They decided to take the discussion in private and boarded the Ghost. Once aboard and alone in Kanan’s quarters, Ahsoka briefed Kanan on her recent investigation about the Sith Lord, and so far the information she had recovered eluded her. She had also learnt more about the Inquisitors, and revealed they had a secondary mission to make retrievals. She managed to decode two sets of coordinates, and while she investigated the first one, she wanted Kanan to investigate the second. Kanan accepted the mission and so did Ezra, who had been listening in on the conversation. Ezra, Kanan, Zeb and Chopper departed from Garel and arrived at the planet Takobo, with a mission to find and retrieve whatever the Inquisitors are after before they do. After landing in the city, the Rebels took a look at the coordinates they were given, which turned out to be housing units. Kanan ordered Zeb and Chopper to investigate the spaceports for any ship belonging to the Inquisitors, while he and Ezra check out the household. With everyone in agreement to their assignments, the Rebels head out in opposite directions. Meanwhile, Ahsoka arrived at the other coordinates, and found the ship the Inquisitors attacked earlier adrift in space. Once aboard, she found the ship severely damaged and deserted. However, she did find Darja alive. Ahsoka learnt from her that the Inquisitors took her granddaughter and pleaded for her to find her. Ahsoka helped the Darja rest and promised to find Alora.

Zeb being chased by the Inquisitors

Back on Takobo, Zeb and Chopper had spent hours searching the other spaceports, and so far found no sign of any ship belonging to the Inquisitors. But their long search finally paid off after they find two Advance TIE fighters under guard by one of the Seventh Sister’s probe droids. Zeb shot it down, and the two proceeded in destroying the ships. However, before the began planting explosives they discovered Alora in one of the cockpits. Meanwhile, Kanan and Ezra arrived at the apartment they were looking for and found the place ransacked and a female Ithorian known as Oora. She told them the Inquisitors came looking for her child, Pypey, but she managed to send him away with a droid before they could get to him. Ezra and Kanan promised Oora to find Pypey before the Inquisitors do, and soon headed out on their search. Zeb and Chooper had returned to the Phantom with Alora in Chopper’s care. Kanan informed Zeb about the other baby and instructed him to find it before the Inquisitors do. Zeb left Chopper to look after Alora, and was soon on the streets looking for the droid carrying Pypey. He soon crossed paths with the droid, and took Pypey from him. He sent the droid to go a separate way to decoy the Inquisitors, but Zeb didn't get very far. The Inquisitors showed up and took out the droid, but didn't find Pypey. However, they did sense his presence, and when they spotted him with Zeb he made a run for it. Zeb informed Kanan of the situation he was in and went into hiding in a nearby apartment building. The Inquisitors lost sight of Zeb, but the Fifth Brother sensed Pypey’s fear within the building they were hiding in. The Seventh Sister dispatched one of her probe droids to keep an eye outside while they searched inside. Ezra and Kanan soon reached the apartment building as well, but immediately hid themselves after Ezra spotted the probe droid. The droid didn't see them, and as soon as it was out of sight Kanan and Ezra entered the building to find Zeb and Pypey.

Kanan understands why the Inquisitors are after these kids.

Once inside, Kanan and Ezra were roaming the corridors, and being very careful where they stepped, as the Inquisitors were about. They soon found Zeb and he brought them to the apartment where he was keeping the baby. Pypey had calmed down, but when he saw Ezra he began to cry in fear. Ezra tried to calm him down but it was no use. Through The Force, The Inquisitors sensed Pypey’s fear and found the apartment where the Rebels were hiding him. They tried to spike them out with their Lightsabers, but Ezra and Kanan cut an entrance to the next apartment above them. They escaped and made a run for the stairs. Ezra still hadn't managed to calm Pypey down, mainly because he could sense his fear through the force. Kanan finally understood why the Inquisitors were abducting these children, because they were Force-sensitive. Fear of them becoming Jedi, the Inquisitors had been tasked to find them and prevent this from ever happening. The Rebels decided to split up: Ezra escaped with Pypey through the ventilation shafts while Kanan and Zeb held off the Inquisitors. Meanwhile, the Inquisitors were still roaming the corridors for the Rebels. Fifth Brother used the force to find them, and when he sensed Pypey and Ezra in the ventilation, he used his lightsaber to spike them. Pypey got scared but Ezra managed to connect with him through the force and calm him down. Just then, Kanan and Zeb showed up, ready to fight the Inquisitors.

The Seventh Sister engaged Kanan in a lightsaber duel while Zeb took on the Fifth Brother hand to hand. Ezra made out of the building and headed back to the Phantom with Pypey, unaware that the Seventh Sister’s probe droid spotted him. Meanwhile, both Inquisitors quickly overpowered their opponents, forcing Kanan and Zeb to retreat. They jumped out of a window and landed on a passing speeder. The Inquisitors jumped onto another speeder, threw out the driver, and pursued Kanan and Zeb through the city streets. Kanan fired at the Inquisitors and took out their speeder. However, the Fifth Brother took out their speeder as well when he threw his lightsaber at them like a boomerang, slicing off one of the jets. They crashed into the streets, but continued on foot. The Rebels made it back to the spaceport, but the doors were sealed. Worst of all, the Inquisitors caught up with them and engaged them in a fight for Pypey. Both quickly overpowered the Rebels once again and were defeated. Then suddenly unexpected, Ahsoka emerged from the spaceport, ready to fight the Inquisitors. She told her fellow Rebels to get on the Phantom, and she engaged the Inquisitors. Despite their best efforts, Ahsoka managed to overpower both of them singled handed. She easily took out the Fifth Brother, and after an aggressive confrontation she defeated the Seventh Sister. For the moment Ahsoka was the one who is victorious, but the tables suddenly turned unexpectedly when Imperial reinforcements arrived and surrounded her. However, as the Phantom took off, Ahsoka managed to jump aboard and escape capture. The Inquisitors were left defeated.

The Inquisitors learn where the Rebels are hiding.

As the Rebels fled Takobo, Pypey was reunited with his mother. Ahsoka was already aware that the Inquisitors were abducting force-sensitive children and remembered a similar attempt made by the Sith during the Clone Wars. The Jedi Order protected them, but since they died out the Rebellion was now their only protection. Meanwhile, the Inquisitors returned to where they landed their ships, only to find them destroyed. Just then, the Seventh Sister’s probe droid showed up with some information that it caught when it spotted Ezra. Recorded in Ezra’s own words, the Inquisitors learnt that the Rebels were hiding on Garel.
