In addition to media that actually falls under the Star Wars Rebels label, characters and concepts from Rebels have appeared in other media as well.
Star Wars[]
Film[]
- Rogue One: A Star Wars Story features several elements from Rebels:
- As the crew of Rogue One are about to depart Yavin IV, a call comes over the intercom for "General Syndulla".
- Chopper-played by the remote control version seen in Rebels Recon-appears as one of the droids at the Yavin IV base in the film.
- The Ghost and several Hammerhead Corvettes appear as part of the Rebel Fleet that goes to Scarif, with one of the latter playing a pivotal role in disabling Scarif’s shield gate.
- Solo: A Star Wars Story
- Han claims to Lando that he owns a VCX-100, the same class of ship as the Ghost.
- Maul makes an appearance near the end of the film, where he is revealed to be the boss of Dryden Vos, the film’s main antagonist. Ray Park reprises his role from The Phantom Menace, while Sam Witwer, who voiced Maul in Clone Wars and Rebels, provides his voice.
- Maul’s lightsaber in the film is the one introduced in Rebels rather than his original one.
- Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker
- The Ghost and some Hammerhead corvettes and Fang Fighters are among the ships in the fleet assembled by Lando.
- Ahsoka and Kanan are among the Jedi whose voices are heard by Rey during her duel with Palpatine, with Ashley Eckstein and Freddie Prinze Jr. both reprising their roles.
- The Mandalorian & Grogu:
- Zeb is set to have a large role in the film, having previously appeared in the series’ third season.
Live-action television[]
- The Mandalorian, the first live-action Star Wars show, acts as somewhat of a followup to Rebels, reintroducing several of its plot threads in the second season.
- In the first season finale it is revealed that the Darksaber, last seen with Bo-Katan, is now owned by Moff Gideon.
- Bo-Katan, based on her Rebels appearance and still portrayed by Katee Sackhoff, makes two guest appearances in the second season before becoming a main character in the third.
- Ahsoka's story from the end of Rebels is continued in the series, where it is revealed that she is still looking for Thrawn.
- Zeb makes a brief cameo appearance in episode 5 of season 3 as a pilot for the New Republic.
- Obi-Wan Kenobi, set halfway between Revenge of the Sith and A New Hope, marks the live-action debuts of both the Grand Inquisitor and Fifth Brother.
- Ahsoka, a spinoff of The Mandalorian starring Rosario Dawson as Ahsoka, Natasha Liu Bordizzo as Sabine, and Mary Elizabeth Winstead as Hera, serves as a direct sequel to Rebels focusing on their continuing search for Thrawn and Ezra. Hera, Sabine, Ezra, Thrawn, Jacen, Jai, and Ryder all make their live-action debuts, while Chopper and the Ghost and Phantom II also reappear. The World Between Worlds also plays a large role in the story.
- Andor season 2 features the live-action debut of Erskin Semaj.
Animation[]
- Scenes based on Droids in Distress appear in an episode of Star Wars: Droid Tales, with the official minifigures that also released in the wave of Rebels, and nonphysical minifigure versions of Amda Wabo, Cikatro Vizago, and Maketh Tua.
- Quarrie was later included in a Lego Star Wars: The Freemaker Adventures set, The Arrowhead, foreshadowing his appearance in the second season of the animated series along with Hera and Chooper.
- When The Clone Wars returned in 2020 for a seventh and final season, several minor elements from Rebels were included.
- Bo-Katan’s helmet has been updated to match its appearance in Rebels, now featuring stylized owl eyes and markings resembling feathers.
- Ahsoka contacts Anakin and Obi-Wan using the frequency “Fulcrum”. Fulcrum was her code name during the first season of Rebels.
- A young Caleb Dume makes a non-speaking appearance during the opening newsreel of the episode “Old Friends Not Forgotten”.
- Ursa Wren, Sabine’s mother, appears as Bo-Katan’s second-in-command prior to and during the Siege of Mandalore.
- The Clone Wars spinoff series The Bad Batch serves to bridge the gap between The Clone Wars and Rebels, with several Rebels voice actors reprising their roles.
- A young Caleb Dume appears in the series premiere. The episode depicts his escape from Order 66 and Depa Billaba's death as it was described by him in Rebels.
- Chopper and a young Hera are the focus of a two-episode arc set on Ryloth.
- Gregor, who was presumed deceased in The Clone Wars before appearing alive in Rebels, makes multiple guest appearances. He is shown to have gotten brain damage from his incident on Abafar, but it has not yet reached the extent it did in Rebels.
Games[]
- Kanan Jarrus, Ezra Bridger, Sabine Wren, and Garazeb Orrelios were all included as playable characters in Disney Infinity 3.0. Hera and Rex were also planned for inclusion, but the game was discontinued without the figures being released.
- The Ghost Crew, Seventh Sister, Ahsoka Tano, the Ghost, and W1-LE all appear as downloadable content for Lego Star Wars: The Force Awakens.
- The Ghost and the Wookiee gunship both appear as unlockable ships in Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga. A Rebels DLC character pack is also set to be released, consisting of Ezra, Kanan, Hera, Sabine, and Thrawn. The Grand Inquisitor and Fifth Brother are also included in the Kenobi character pack.
- Star Wars: Battlefront II features an unlockable Rebels season 3 skin for Maul, named the “Old Master” skin after his nickname in Twilight of the Apprentice.
- The game Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order and its sequel Jedi: Survivor both prominently feature the Inquisitorius.
