Simulator Pods are designed to run their cadets through specific scenarios and training missions. The pods were, essentially, standalone cockpit pods of TIE Fighters; they could be moved a full 360 degrees to recreate the experience of flying a TIE, and featured immersive, on-screen visuals that could be monitored by instructors.
