Kanan Jarrus' padawan
A Padawan was a rank given to those Jedi that were starting to understand and unravel the mysteries of the force under a Jedi Knight's tutelage. Padawans were given a special braid that was cut either after they attained the rank of Jedi Knight or very rarely when they exiled or chose to leave the Jedi Order. Most Jedi Padawans were wiped out from Order 66 which eradicated a high number of padawans leaving only very few survivors.
