The Mining Guild was a network of miners operating in the concert of the Galactic Empire, that harvested natural resources throughout the galaxy. It has purchased its own modified variant TIE fighters from the Empire for defending its holdings.
The Mining Guild's association with the Empire granted purchase of its own modified TIE Fighters.
Operation in an Asteroid Belt
In 3 BBY, the Guild ran the Asteroid Belt Gas Refinery on a small planetoid operated by Guildmaster Yushyn, where they extracted Clouzon-36. However, this operation was discovered by the rebel crew of a VCX-100 light freighter called the Ghost, who stole the fuel for the Rebellion and destroyed the complex. Despite the loss of that Clouzon-36 refinery, the Mining Guild remained powerful.
Failure for Seizing Operations in Cloud City
The Imperial regime seemed to have adverse effects on the Guild since, during the Civil War, it did not appear to enforce its policies quite as well as it should, even small operations such as Lando Calrissian's Cloud City on Bespin remained unnoticed by the Guild.
- "The Call" (First appearance)
- As Lucasfilm Story Group's Pablo Hidalgo cites in the Rebels Recon for "The Call", the Mining Guild was actually mentioned by name in The Empire Strikes Back: Leia asks Lando if Cloud City is part of the Mining Guild, though he says that no, they are a small enough operation that they have managed to avoid such large-scale attention.
