Luke Skywalker was a male human that was the son of Anakin Skywalker and Padmé Amidala and the older twin brother of Leia Organa, born a couple days after the transformation of the Galactic Empire also known as "Empire Day". He lived on Tatooine in Lars Moisture Farm, under the care of his aunt and uncle.

Luke and his sister Leia were born after their father Anakin fell to the dark side, with their mother Padmé dying during childbirth. Jedi Masters Yoda and Obi-Wan Kenobi and Senator Bail Organa counseled together and decided to hide the twins separately, with Bail taking Leia to Alderaan while Obi-Wan took Luke to the Lars Moisture Farm on Tatooine. Obi-Wan would watch over Luke from a distance to ensure his safety, a purpose that was realized by Maul upon his finding Obi-Wan on Tatooine. Obi-Wan considered Luke to be the Chosen One of Jedi prophecy, or so he told Maul before the former Sith Apprentice's death.
