Plot
Upon receiving word from a contact about refugees wanted by the Empire, Ezra led the Rebels to Nixus Hub 218 on a rescue mission to save them. They arrived where they were supposed to meet these refugees, only to have found Imperial forces already present guarding a storage container carrying the refugees. The Imperials opened the container and holding them at gunpoint, they forced the refugees out. To Zeb’s surprise, the refugees were Lasats. Then just as the Imperials escorted the two Lasats to a detention facility, Zeb and the Rebels attacked and freed them. They took down all the troopers and after Ezra blasted the Imperial officer in charge, his contact, who turned out to be Hondo Ohnaka, showed up. The two Lasats were known as Chava the wise and Gron, and they recognized Zeb as the former captain of the Lasan Honor Guard, much to Zeb’s discomfort. His fellow Rebels were surprised, because he never told them that he was a captain. All Zeb could say was that it was a long time ago and forgot it all since then. Knowing that reinforcements may shop up, the Rebels fled back to the ship, as Hondo realized that he was not getting his payment for doing his part, as Ezra promised. Not long after they had gone, a squad of Stormtroopers came across Hondo. To get back at Ezra for double crossing him and collect a possible reward for the Rebel’s capture, he told the Stormtroopers where they were.
As the Rebels headed back to the ship, Ezra asked Chava about where they were heading. She told him they were on a journey to their new world, Liresan. Prophesised in the ancient Lasat writings, it was known to be a safe system where the Lasats could begin a new life. Zeb however showed disbelief in Liresan or in a prophecy of a new future for his people. Unnoticed, Hondo led the Stormtroopers to the Rebels. They informed Agent Kallus, who was on his way. He ordered the troopers to move in on the Rebels but wanted them captured alive. As the troopers moved in to intercept, Hondo contacted Ezra and warned him about the approaching Stormtroopers just as they showed up and attacked. The Rebels became cornered with no chance of escape. However, Hondo deliberately sealed a few doors, shutting out the troopers and giving the Rebels a chance to escape. The Rebels fought their way back to the Ghost, and soon after boarding they departed from Nixus and escaped to Hyperspace just as Agent Kallus and Admiral Konstantine arrived.
Travelling through hyperspace on their way to Liresan, the Rebels learnt from Chava that she did not have the specific location as it was uncharted and an old legend, from Zeb’s perspective. In order for them to find Liresan, Chava had to perform a ritual that would guide them to their new home. While Ezra and the others were most supportive, Zeb remained distant as if he did not want any part of it. This puzzled Ezra, but soon learnt from Zeb that he secretly felt guilty for failing to protect his people when the Empire cleared his home world. As captain of the honour guard, he was responsible for protecting the royal family and every single Lasat. He fought to the end, but despite his best efforts it was not good enough. Lasan was lost to the Empire, everything was gone and retreated. Hearing all this made Ezra feel sorry for Zeb. Despite being full of guilt and shame, Ezra encouraged Zeb to help Chava and Gron find Liresan, take the chance to help his people once again. This encouragement helped Zeb overcome his guilt, and with his assistance they were able to determine the precise location of Liresan; beyond the outer rim in wild space.
The Ghost neared the edge of the outer rim, but Hera was forced to bring the ship out of hyperspace because a huge imploded star cluster stood in their path. Any ship that went in closer could get destroyed by the gravity field within the cluster. Chava recognized it as the maze that was prophesised, meaning that Liresan lied somewhere within and beyond the cluster. Just then, Agent Kallus’ ship emerged from hypserspace, thanks to Hondo’s assistance and a tracker he placed on the transmitter he gave to Ezra. Agent Kallus gave them one minute to surrender otherwise he would order an attack on their ship. The Rebels were close to reaching Liresan and Agent Kallus had them cornered. Following Chava’s wisdom, Zeb used the power generated from his Bo-Rifle to navigate the Ghost into the cluster, leading the way to Liresan. Noticing this, Kallus deployed two TIE Fighters to intercept them, but as they moved in they got ripped apart by the gravity fields. The Ghost however passed through unharmed. Kallus opened fire on them but his attacks deflected in opposite directions. Soon the haul of his ship began to buckle as they followed the Ghost into the cluster. Kallus was forced to pull-back from his pursuit, and hoped the cluster’s gravity field would destroy the Rebels. Apparently, the Ghost remained unharmed as Zeb guided the ship further into the cluster. As Zeb saw the way to Liresan, the hyperdrive automatically came online and the Ghost jumped right into eye of the star cluster. The Rebels were surrounded by blinding lights as they accelerated and neared Liresan.
Moments later, the Ghost emerged from hyperspace into a part of space that was uncharted and unknown. As Cheve, Gron, and the Rebels regained consciousness after blacking out, they found themselves approaching the planet known as Liresan, much to the joy of Cheve, Gron, and Zeb. Zeb went down to the surface with Cheve and Gron, and while mostly everyone was suspecting he may want to stay, Zeb returned to the Ghost with joyful news that Liresan was already inhabited by millions of Lasats. As it turned out, Liresan was where Zeb’s people originally came from. Zeb felt proud of what he had done, and hoped to show the way again for any other Lasats they might come across. Guiding them to their new home.
