I assumed that this ship was merely a transport, but I realize it is much more than that. This is your home.

The Ghost was a VCX-100 light freighter, manufactured by the Corellian Engineering Corporation. The ship mainly saw flight following the rise of the Galactic Empire and was piloted by Hera Syndulla and her crew.

Description[]

The Ghost was a modified VCX-100 light freighter, originally manufactured by the Corellian Engineering Corporation.

The main cockpit was located at the front-end of the ship. Directly beneath it was the nose turret gunner station, which had a pair of forward floodlights on both of its sides. At the very top of the ship was the dorsal turret, which could be rotated 360-degrees. In addition to the dorsal turret were the two rear laser cannons. Also located at the back of the ship was the engine assembly. It also featured a cargo hold, which was located on the right-end of the ship.

While the Ghost lacked a cloaking device, it featured a sensory scrambler, which could effectively trick Imperial ships. Additionally, it served as a mothership to the Phantom, a much smaller ship.

Behind the scenes[]

A LEGO version of the Ghost was released on May 28th, 2014. It, alongside the Phantom, was the first set to be revealed in the LEGO Star Wars Rebels line of products.

The Ghost was first unveiled on July 27th, 2013 at Celebration Europe II, to much applause. In addition, several Rebel pins also contained hidden hints to locating schematics of the ship online, which was eventually discovered to be the StarWars.com Blog's article "Seen a ghost?".

According to Paul Urquhart, the Ghost's cockpit was inspired by the real-life Boeing B-17 Flying Fortress.

The Ghost also appears several times in the Star Wars film Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. First, it can be seen on a landing pad on Yavin 4. Later on in the film, the Ghost can be seen in the Rebel Alliance fleet fighting in the Battle of Scarif.
