Cody and I practically invented these emergency protocols back in the Clone War.
―Rex[src]

CC-2224 (nicknamed "Cody") was a Clone Marshal Commander of the Galactic Republic's 212th Attack Battalion during the Clone Wars. He served under Obi-Wan Kenobi and often fought alongside the 501st Legion's Captain Rex. During the war, Cody and Rex created military codes that would later be used by the Galactic Empire. However, unlike Rex, Cody did not have his control chip removed, and thus turned against Obi-Wan during Order 66, though he failed to eliminate the Jedi Master.

Biography[]

Cody was placed in charge of the 7th Sky Corps with Jedi General Obi-Wan Kenobi. He personally led the 212th Attack Battalion, a unit within it, and participated in a multitude of key battles throughout the war. On many of these campaigns, such as on Christophsis, Geonosis, Umbara, and Anaxes, Cody and his unit fought alongside Captain Rex's 501st Legion, resulting in their close friendship. Cody and Clone Captain Gregor both fought in the Battle of Sarrish as well, though the battle was lost, resulting in massive casualties for the 212th and Gregor going MIA.

At the end of the war, Cody and Kenobi's forces were deployed to Utapau to hunt down General Grievous. However, the Commander received the signal for Order 66 from Darth Sidious, and ordered an All Terrain Tactical Enforcer to fire on Kenobi's position. Though the Commander believed the Jedi to be dead, Obi-Wan actually escaped.

Later, in 18 BBY, according to Admiral Rampart, Cody has went AWOL.

Relationships[]

Obi-Wan Kenobi[]

Main article: Obi-Wan Kenobi

Cody was assigned to Kenobi during the Clone Wars, and served closely with the Jedi throughout the entirety of the war. The two of them formed an extremely close bond and became friends as the war waged on, with Cody never doubting his general's abilities and Kenobi relying on the commander as his right-hand man. Kenobi's personality and tendencies of following standard procedure was reflected by Cody's own leadership.

However, Cody, unable to resist the inhibitor chip placed in his brain, ultimately betrayed Obi-Wan. When Order 66 was issued, the commander ordered his troops to fire upon Kenobi without hesitation, though the Jedi escaped.

Rex[]

Main article: Rex

Cody and Rex were Clone Trooper officers during the Clone Wars. Both soldiers became close friends in the war, finding themselves on the same battlefield numerous times. They were often assigned to the same special operations missions, from rescuing a Jedi in an enemy prison to locating a traitor among their own ranks. Cody, though he outranked Rex, trusted in the captain's abilities, and placed him in charge on many occasions.

It is unknown if the two clones ever met again after Order 66 was carried out.
