Clone Captain was an officer rank in the Grand Army of the Republic held by Clone Troopers. They were field leaders who were placed in charge of companies, though they often led larger units as well.
Captain Rex was a Clone Captain of the 501st Legion and Torrent Company, serving as the second-in-command to Anakin Skywalker. Captain Styles was a captain that served under Jedi General Depa Billaba.
Captains were selected out of cadets in clone trooper training who showed leadership potential. Many of them received advanced training from elite ARC troopers, and could be called on for special assignments.
Captain Gregor was a Clone Commando Captain.
