Battle of Geonosis

The Battle of Geonosis was the opening battle of the Clone Wars, taking place-as its name implies-on the planet Geonosis.

History[]

The battle was initially fought between some two hundred members of the Jedi Order and the forces of the Confederacy of Independent Systems, which included Geonosians and thousands of B1 Battle Droids, Droidekas, and other models. Eventually a mere handful of the original Jedi force remained, including Anakin Skywalker, Obi-Wan Kenobi, and Mace Windu, but before they could be executed Yoda arrived with the newly created Grand Army of the Republic. The battle soon turned in favor of the Republic forces, with the Separatists either fleeing the planet or hiding themselves in its depths. Clone Captain Rex either participated in the battle or had some knowledge of it, which he later shared with Ezra Bridger following the Battle of Agamar.
