Garazeb Orrelios, to Agent Kallus[src]

The bo-rifle was a type of unique weapon, used as both a blaster rifle and a staff. Manufactured by the Lasan-Malamut Firearms Corporation, the weapon was used exclusively by the Lasan Honor Guard, and was an important part of Lasat culture. Following the rise of the Galactic Empire, the weapon became extremely uncommon. Two models existed the AB-75 owned by Garazeb Orrelios and the J-19 owned by ISB Agent Kallus.

The weapon was used not only as a staff, but as a long-range rifle as well. As a melee weapon, it had electromagnetic tips stretching two meters long, and was activated by pressing both handles inward after twisting the top down. It had a maximum voltage of 11,000 volts, similar to the EE-3 carbine rifle, and could neutralize ray-shields with its EMP pulses. The color of the Bo-Rifle's electrostaff varied from violet to yellow. As a blaster, it fired red blaster bolts at high velocities. Additionally, the weapon could be collapsed into a compact design whenever need be. This weapon was notably carried by Garazeb, one of the few Lasats who survived their planet's destruction. Garazeb received the weapon during his time in the Honor Guard. His AB-75 weighed 19 kilograms, and was wrapped in cloth to hold it together.

ISB Agent Kallus, who participated in the destruction of Lasan, carried a J-19 Bo-Rifle. He claimed to have taken it from a fallen member of the Lasat Honor Guard, though in reality the warrior gave it to him after being defeated in accordance with Boosahn Keeraw. Kallus also modified the weapon for close combat, and was proficient in its use. He later lost possession of the weapon after being exposed as a Fulcrum agent and arrested by Grand Admiral Thrawn.

Bo-rifles were also known to have an extra setting that could channel the Force and interact with hyperdrives, and also create yellow force fields.
