It also raises the question, had Ahsoka been dead this whole time? Did the temple crush her and she was gone until Ezra reached back in time and pulled her out of the battle? That would certainly explain her absence but, if that’s true, wouldn’t bringing her back suddenly change the events of the past two seasons? Or is it possible a future Ezra always saves Ahsoka in that moment after her fight with Vader? But if that’s the case, where did she go after that moment? As is usually the case with time travel, there’s a lot to unpack here.

I might be cross-referencing fandoms here, but going by what little knowledge of time travel & paradoxes from Doctor Who (apparently my mother has become a Whovian at some point? Go figure...) I think that since Ezra was in a place where time didn't really exist and everything was happening at once, when he pulled Ahsoka into the World Between Worlds, he sort of... put her in flux, for lack of a better word, and then when she returned through the Malachor portal, time started flowing normally for her again. So, I think Ahsoka's fate was always to be pulled out of time by Ezra and then returned to that moment. She's just been hiding out somewhere, probably Malachor, waiting for time to catch up to Ezra and the Ghost crew in that moment to preserve the timeline.
And since that doesn't even make any sense to me, and I'm the one who said it, I choose to paraphrase Captain Marvel: "There should really be a handbook for time-travel..."
